Membership of Directors Association is how a director's commitment to competent, ethical governance becomes a standing recognition — the credential that comes with completing our training, passing Board Exams, and holding one of our professional designations.
Membership is open to directors, aspiring directors, company secretaries and governance professionals who want to be part of a community that holds itself to a defined standard of board practice, across public, private, state-owned and non-profit boards alike.
Membership is renewed annually on payment of a R3,000 membership fee, and must be kept in good standing — a designation is held only while membership is current, and lapses if the fee goes unpaid.
To retain a designation, members must also accumulate a minimum number of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points each year, earned through qualifying training, events and governance activity — keeping members current on evolving law, regulation and governance practice, not credentialed once and done.
To become a member, complete the relevant training with the Directors Association Governance Academy, pass the required Board Exams for your chosen designation, and apply to Directors Association to have that designation and membership awarded.
